20-year-old guitarist Marcus King had quite a few nights in New York City on December 30 and 31. Not only did the axe-slinger sit-in with Gov’t Mule at the Beacon Theatre on Friday and Saturday, but he played a late night show leading The Marcus King Band at The Cutting Room on Friday night. King and his band treated fans to material from both of their studio albums and threw in a cover of Blind Faith’s “Had To Cry Today” for good measure. The band features Marcus King joined by drummer Jack Ryan, bassist Stephen Campbell, horn player Justin Johnson, keyboardist Matt Jennings and saxophonist Dean Mitchell.
